This position is based in Tacoma, WA, and is hybrid eligible (minimum of 3 days on-site) after a successful evaluation period (dependent upon the needs of the department.). Please note that we generally do not sponsor applicants for work visas for staff positions. Therefore, we generally require applicants for staff positions to be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Position Summary:
The Hybrid Program Coordinator will work directly with hybrid students to assist them in resolving academic and personal challenges that may present barriers to their success at the University of Puget Sound. This involves proactive and reactive student contact throughout the year as well as collaborative work with colleagues across departments to provide appropriate resources and ongoing support to students. The Hybrid Program Coordinator will also work to ensure successful residency weekends by working with faculty to develop and run the weekends and support students while they are on campus.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Create programming aimed at increasing the personal and academic success of hybrid students (Social Media Campaigns, text communication, individual meetings, special events, etc). Collaborate with Admission on communication campaigns for incoming students and assist with the Admissions process for hybrid students. Coordinate with campus learning resources to provide necessary resources and assist in resolving student issues and to connect students with specialized support. Serve as a point of contact for LMS related issues of students. Help troubleshoot and Coach students to create action plans tailored to their individual needs and assist them in tracking progress toward their academic goals. Assist students in developing problem solving, time management, and interpersonal skills that can assist them in navigating academic and personal challenges on campus, and encourage connections with the community. Perform proactive outreach to students and work with Counseling faculty and colleagues across campus to address student needs. Work to ensure that all Puget Sound students have equitable access to success. Identify policies and procedures that present barriers to student success, and work with necessary teams to improve systems to maximize student success. Conduct Exit Interviews with students who are thinking of leaving the college or have left to learn about their experience and the factors that lead to their departure. Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Budgetary Responsibilities None.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required with at least two years of professional experience working in direct student support, academic advising, mentoring, counseling, social work, or similar fields. Strong understanding of higher education systems. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential student information in compliance with FERPA. Experience in providing support to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, and educational backgrounds, and with varying abilities. Ability to build and nurture professional relationships that encourage trust and collaboration with students, staff members, and faculty. Centers collaboration, teamwork, collegiality, and communication. Able to work independently. Outstanding written and oral communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability. Knowledge of and ability to teach learning techniques, motivational skills, time management tools, and other student-focused skills. Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and teamwork. 4 It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be hired between $23.05 to $24.50 per hour. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
