We are seeking candidates who desire to join one of Wisconsin's premier athletic conferences as a dedicated and committed leader, providing exemplary educational-based athletic opportunities for the combined 15,000 students served by our 16 member schools. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader and gifted communicator who has the desire to develop positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Our successful candidate will bring the following qualities and attributes: Licensed or previously licensed as a school administrator or certified or previously certified as a CAA Minimum 5 years prior experience as a secondary school athletic or activities director or experience as a school administrator or similar experience in an aligned professional field, including experience in the organization and administration of an extracurricular athletics program. Shall have proficiency in administrative responsibilities. A balanced interest in the various aspects of extracurricular programming. Demonstrated leadership ability, including exemplary written and oral communications skills. Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Badger Conference hiring committee may deem necessary or desirable.
Commissioner Duties:
Establish schedules, along with the Assistant Commissioner, for Badger Conference sports sponsored by the Conference. Hiring and assigning officials based on feedback from AD's. Give a "Commissioner's Report" at the monthly athletic directors meeting. Organize and conduct the annual coaches and all-conference selection meeting with help from athletic directors and Assistant Commissioner, and provide for the communication of all-conference selection to the athletic directors, coaches, and media. Make official interpretations of the Badger Conference Constitution, By-laws, and procedures when requested by member schools. The commissioner will maintain the Badger Conference shared drive; the Badger Conference Website (if applicable); facilitate trainings for our scheduling software; attend monthly Badger Conference meetings, WIAA meetings, and other conferences when appropriate to be the voice of the Badger Conference. Other duties as necessary for the efficient and accurate operations of the conference.
Conference Description:
The conference includes full-time member schools: Baraboo, Beaver Dam, Deforest, Edgewood, Fort Atkinson, McFarland, Milton, Monona Grove, Mount Horeb, Oregon, Portage, Reedsburg, Sauk Prairie.
