Posting Details Position Summary Information Posting Number P2329 Job Title Athletic Department Work- Study Student Worker (Multiple Positions) Students Only Yes Job Description Summary The Athletics Work-Study Student supports the day-to-day operations of the Western Wyoming College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position assists with home athletic events, team operations, facilities, equipment, and other departmental needs for Women's Soccer, Wrestling, Women's Basketball, Men's Basketball, and other athletic programs as assigned. Work-study students are expected to represent Western Wyoming College and Mustang Athletics in a professional manner while providing a positive experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, visiting teams, and spectators. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with the setup and preparation of all home athletic contests in Rushmore Gymnasium and at off-campus athletic sites, including Rock Springs High School and Rock Springs Junior High School. Assist the Game Day Manager with assigned tasks before, during, and after home athletic contests to ensure events operate safely, efficiently, and professionally. Assist with game-day operations, including scorekeeping, official statistics, scoreboard/clock operation, filming, livestream support, public address responsibilities, and other assigned duties. Film home contests, including neutral-site matches or games when Western hosts tournaments or multi-team events. Assist with communication and hospitality for game officials, visiting teams, coaches, and other event personnel. Become proficient in the operation of the concession stand, Mustang Corral, ticket booth, and other revenue or fan-service areas. Assist with ticket sales, admissions, merchandise sales, and other game-day responsibilities as assigned. Assist in overseeing and providing direction to student groups or volunteers working home athletic events. Assist with post-event cleanup, breakdown, and storage of equipment following all home contests. Assist individual athletic teams with operational needs as requested by the Athletic Director or coaching staff, including practice setup and breakdown, equipment organization, laundry, uniforms, inventory, team travel preparation, and other team-related tasks. Assist coaches and athletic staff with preparing materials, organizing equipment, maintaining storage areas, and completing general office or administrative tasks. Assist with athletic department marketing and promotional efforts, including distributing promotional materials, preparing game-day signage, and assisting with special events. Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of athletic facilities, offices, storage areas, and equipment spaces. Assist with tournaments, camps, clinics, recruiting events, community engagement activities, and other special events hosted by Mustang Athletics. Provide general support to the Athletic Department and individual athletic programs as needs arise throughout the academic year. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, Game Day Manager, Athletics staff, or designated coaching staff. Expectations Athletics Work-Study Students are expected to: Be dependable, punctual, and willing to work evenings and weekends when athletic events are scheduled. Communicate professionally with coaches, staff, student-athletes, officials, visiting teams, and spectators. Follow all Western Wyoming College, Athletic Department, and facility policies and procedures. Maintain appropriate confidentiality when working around student-athletes, coaches, and departmental information. Demonstrate a willingness to learn different areas of athletic operations and assist wherever needed. Work independently when appropriate while also contributing positively as a member of the Mustang Athletics team. Minimum Qualifications Must be a current student at Western Wyoming Community College. Experience with athletics and athletic events is preferred. Organized, punctual and deadline-driven.
