Part-time teaching responsibility involves instruction of one or more of the following courses: Physical Geography Lecture and Physical Geography Laboratory, Introduction to Weather Lecture and Introduction to Weather Lab, Cultural Geography, World Regional Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Global Positioning System. Drone Piloting and Mapping.

Physics, Geology, Astronomy & Geography Duties and Responsibilities:
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules; 2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking; 3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work; 4. meeting with students outside of class; 5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics; 6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas; 7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member; 8. maintaining accurate academic records; 9. performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:
EDUCATION
Master's in geography OR Bachelor's in geography AND Master's in geology, history, meteorology or oceanography OR the equivalentORMaster's in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate course work in at least one other constituent discipline. Desirable Qualifications:
Experience of curriculum design in an adult learning environment. Evidence of training in online teaching pedagogy, such as the Contra Costa Community College District facilitated training in Becoming and Effective Online Instructor, or an equivalent. Experience with Canvas or similar Learning Management System. Effective oral and written communication skills.
