Wednesdays, 1:10 PM-2:10 PM Pleasant Hill, CA What You'll Teach Lessons may include: Chessboard setup and piece identification How each chess piece moves Capturing and protecting pieces Check, checkmate, and stalemate Basic opening principles Piece value and simple exchanges Offensive and defensive strategies Identifying threats Planning ahead Basic tactics and patterns Problem-solving chess puzzles Guided practice games Good sportsmanship and chess etiquette Lessons should be interactive and age-appropriate, with a balance of instruction, demonstrations, challenges, and actual gameplay .
