A History or Social Studies Teacher teaches in the social studies fields for elementary to secondary school students. Elementary school teaching focuses on general social studies, with history overview courses starting in middle school. High school focuses on specific courses of study, such as Modern US History. Fields include history, geography, government, and current events.
26-27 School Year Palmer Ridge High School is looking for a Social Studies teacher beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. This position may also be serving Gifted and Talented (GT) as well. Must have, or be eligible to receive a Colorado teaching license with a secondary social studies endorsement, or must have a Colorado teaching license with a minimum of 24 credit hours in the content area. Must have the ability to deliver the full range Civics, World History and American History instruction to high school aged students. The opportunity to coach athletics and/or sponsor a student program is also available. The first day for teachers new to our district is July 31, 2026. Exact placement on the pay schedule will be determined by the Director of Human Resources upon contracting. As a guideline, we offer up to 18 years of previous contractual teaching experience for a placement of Step 19, per school board policy. This pay range is based on education and experience levels with a range of $44,550 - $75,279. The current teacher pay schedule can be found on our website.
