Deliver interactive lessons that cover key historical events, social movements, government structures, and cultural developments in American history. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment conducive to active participation and respectful discourse. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, essays, and projects; provide timely feedback to support growth. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives to promote best practices in teaching social sciences. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance, behavior, and upcoming assessments or projects. Incorporate research skills, literacy education, and critical analysis into lessons to deepen students' understanding of historical contexts. Implement IT-integrated lessons using learning technology platforms and tools for remote or hybrid instruction when necessary. Engage in ongoing professional development related to curriculum development, educational compliance, and innovative teaching methodologies. Experience Proven high school teaching experience with teenagers in a classroom setting; private school experience is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning within social sciences or history disciplines. Strong knowledge of AP style guidelines, Chicago Manual of Style for academic writing, copy editing, proofreading, and journalism principles. Experience working with diverse learning styles and adapting teaching methods accordingly; familiarity with learning technology integration is essential. Skilled in classroom management techniques that foster respectful behavior and active student engagement. Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, mentoring new teachers, and maintaining parent relationships. Background in teaching English language arts or literacy education is advantageous; familiarity with standardized testing procedures is required. Knowledge of educational compliance regulations and experience implementing IT-integrated lessons aligned with curriculum standards. Ability to conduct research, utilize library services effectively, and incorporate creative writing into history instruction enhances student learning experiences.

Pay:

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
