Job Description

The Teacher is responsible for all supervision, management and planning. The Teacher will work with community center program staff to facilitate the utilization of needed services to the students (Grades 1st•6th ) and their parents. This incumbent is responsible for keeping accurate reports and forms on each student, and guaranteeing that all of the necessary forms are completed and maintained. The selected candidate will be passionate about the Authority's mission and will strive to advance the mission, vision, and values to internal and external stakeholders.
ACADEMIC YEAR SCHEDULE
: Mondays•Fridays; 3PM•6PM
SUMMER SCHEDULE
: Mondays•Fridays; 9AM•12PM
ASSIGNMENT
:
YEAR-ROUND EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, Recreation, or closely related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of teaching, tutoring, or educational program work or combination. Preferably with elementary school age students.
SKILLS:
Must have good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software. Must be able to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Must have strong communication skills to discuss student's progress and needs with parents and guardians. Demonstrated experience teaching math and science courses preferably to elementary school age students. Must have experience preparing lessons plans focused on State of Ohio assessments. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
OTHER:
Possession of a valid Ohio Vehicle Operator's license and insurability under CMHA standards. The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Other combinations of education and experience that could provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
