Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an American Library Association accredited college/university with a Master's Degree in Library Science ( proof required• ); Willingness to work various shifts, including weekdays, evenings and/or weekends; Must be available to work one (1) shift per week Willingness to work at the Main Library or any of the Neighborhood Libraries; A valid driver's license or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel, may be required for some assignments. •Required documents, such as transcripts must be uploaded to the online application in PDF format at the time of filing. Any documents submitted must contain either the applicant's name or other identifying characteristics on the document. Proof of education for academic degrees should indicate the type of degree and date of degree conferral. Candidates who possess degrees or units from outside the United States must attach proof of educational equivalency at the time of filing.DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS
: Bilingual in English and Spanish, Khmer or Tagalog.SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds; Strong computer skills (internet-based platforms, MS Office Suite, databases) and the ability to learn and teach library related technology; Ability to exercise professionalism by combining tact, patience, and a personable demeanor.
