The Reference Librarian will assist library users in traditional and electronic research and participate in the faculty liaison program. This individual teaches various instructional classes including one-credit advanced legal research courses, and conducts presentations and assists with instructional support. The Reference Librarian assists with administrative public services tasks including Circulation Department duties related to overall Library needs. This position has an anticipated schedule of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with variations as needed. Term break time scheduling will vary. Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Juris Doctor or equivalent is required, Master of Library Science must be in progress; up to two years of experience, three to four preferred; experience with legal reference, research sources, and online services preferred; strong verbal, written, teaching, and organizational skills; proficiency in software applications; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; strong service ethic; self-directed; can manage multiple tasks and projects; engage in complex decision making; and, works well in a team environment.
