Position Summary
Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a visionary and collaborative Library Media Specialist to lead our shared Middle/High School Library Media Center. Following the district's mission to empower students as "savvy consumers of information," the specialist will transform the library into a hub of inquiry, digital literacy, and academic excellence for students in grades 6-12.
The successful candidate will be a partner in the instructional process, working closely with faculty to integrate 21st-century skills—critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration—into a diverse and inclusive curriculum.
Qualifications
Valid Massachusetts DESE License as a School Library Teacher (All Levels).
A Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited program (Library Science/Information Science) is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in library management systems, online databases, and educational platforms
Previous experience in a middle or high school setting is highly desirable.
