Job Description

Youth Services Librarian, Wiggin Memorial Library (Stratham, NH)
Seeking a full-time (36 hours) Youth Services Librarian for our vibrant library in the seacoast region. Great candidates will be knowledgeable in the field, willing team players, and have a sense of playfulness and fun. Applicants must be able to demonstrate flexibility and good judgment in varying circumstances. The ability to produce high quality work, provide excellent patron service, and multi-task in an occasionally fast-paced environment is essential. Must be a collaborative team player with an interest in providing library services and developing community for families with children ranging from ages 0-18. Must stay current with professional trends, communicate well verbally and in writing with library and Town colleagues, and assist in the planning of team projects. Some evening hours and Saturdays (on a rotation) are required. Option to work a four-day work week, Tuesday-Friday.
Qualifications
1-2 years of relevant experience with a degree in library science or other related field. Or 2-4 years experience working with children and/or teens in a library, school or other youth-focused field.
Independent and collaborative experience with the library skills in the job description. Excellent oral and written communication skills; listening and interpersonal skills; organizational and evaluative skills. High comfort level with technology in general including mobile devices, wi-fi, productivity software (ie: MS Office Suite, G-Suite), Canva, a variety of library digital subscriptions and ILS software -experience with Koha, a plus.
