Job Description

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining its team as a Library Assistant at the Downtown Chandler Library. The position is regular, part-time, with benefits.
Work Schedule :
Varied Schedule, including nights and weekends. This opportunity is only open to 1) current regular City of Chandler employees, 2) those participating in a city-approved internship or apprenticeship program, and 3) temporary employees who are paid through the city payroll system. Who we are looking for Our new team members will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service experience involving frequent public contact, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.   • Some High School; and
  • 1 year of customer service experience involving frequent public contact; and
  • A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a library setting with an automated library system.
  • Experience effectively communicating with the public to answer questions, explain policies, resolve complex situations, and provide instruction and training on equipment use.
This is a regular part-time position subject to a 6-month probationary period. Should another position become available, a register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months.
