Job Summary Performs basic online, clerical and public service tasks involved in the circulation and processing of library materials. Works under the general supervision of a Library Specialist and Librarians.
Basic duties:
Checking in/out materials from the Library collection, Reserve collection and other items; cleaning tables and desks at closing; some word processing and statistics possible; provides information and directions to library customers in person and via phone and email; shelves library materials; assists in shifting the collection and inventory; checks and fills paper for public printers; special projects as assigned by staff. Minimum Qualifications Customer service, attention to detail. Ability to learn the filing and classification systems used in the library. Ability to learn the Alma circulation system used in the library Ability to learn use of the on-line catalog Ability to file (shelve) rapidly and accurately according to detailed guidelines Ability to communicate effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with customers and co-workers Ability to answer multi-line phone while helping in-person customers. Must be able to lift up to 40lb objects; pushing/pulling book carts up to 75lbs Must be able to climb/stand on a kick-step and a step ladder How to Apply Steps to

FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office. FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program. The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.
