The Bartlett Public Library District is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Circulation Associate. The Circulation Associate is responsible for providing high quality customer service by assisting patrons with the circulation of materials and assisting with the use of technology within the library.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for customer service at the checkout desk, including the self-service station.
- Assist patrons with technology questions and computer access within the library.
- Process library card registrations.
- Accept payments for fines and fees.
- Answer incoming calls and route to other departments as needed; provide basic directional assistance to patrons and refer questions to appropriate staff.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for lobby area of the library.
- Retrieve returned materials from indoor and outdoor book returns and check them in.
- Perform timely alphanumeric sorting and filing; organize and accurately re-shelve returned materials and materials left in patron areas or on carts.
- Fulfill patron hold requests and manage missing status of materials.
- Work with patrons to resolve problems with patron accounts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of customer service experience.
- Must be willing to work a variety of hours, including nights and weekends.
