Job Description

The Advanced Studio Assistant is accountable for advanced maintenance of Visual Art Center Studios and advanced assistance to faculty and students in those studios. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies . Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:
Communication:
Students build communication skills by practicing clear, respectful, and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication in a workplace setting.

Students build critical thinking skills by applying judgment, solving problems, prioritizing tasks, maintaining accuracy, and using feedback to improve their work.

Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting.
Technology:
Students build technology skills by using department systems, software, digital tools, equipment, or university platforms to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. Assists Studio Manager with maintenance of studios and laboratories Troubleshoots and provides assistance with a variety of advanced studio issues. Assist faculty and staff with special projects and exhibitions. Prints large documents for other departments throughout the university as needed Performs related duties as assigned
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study E ligible Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter Ability to work independently to identify, diagnose, resolve problems in a range of studios and communicate the problem and resolution to the appropriate stakeholder(s). Minimum of four art or design courses required and be in good academic standing. An advanced understanding of techniques and maintenance in at least three of the following studios: Ceramics, Laser, Wood, 3-D Printing, Painting, Printing, and Mac Lab.
