Job Description:
The Library is seeking federal aid recipients for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this position. If you have questions about your award or are not certain that you are receiving financial aid, lo into your MyFalcon account and check your award amount for Federal Work Study. If you do not see a Work Study award amount, then you are not eligible to apply. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities for the position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet patrons that approach the service desk. Answer informational, directional and service questions, in-person, over the phone and on chat. Assist patrons with searching for items in the library catalog; Referring patrons to reference staff as necessary. Check library materials out to users, process returns and create study room reservations. Provide technology assistance, such as maintaining printers by refilling paper and toner, fixing paper jams, helping patrons with scanners, laminator, wifi, etc. Load book carts, sort books and shelve items, maintain order in the stacks by assisting in stacks maintenance activities: shelf reading, inventory, shifting, pick-ups, sorting, searching for missing items, cleaning and special projects. Assist with course reserve processing, interlibrary loan and scanning. Assist with the opening and closing of library. Assist with user experience activities such as surveys, data collection and data entry. Opportunity to participate in displays and activities such as Finals crafts and goodie bags.

Proactive and friendly customer service attitude. Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Dependable and responsible. Professional demeanor. Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to lift heavy books, move carts and have tolerance for exposure to dust.
Additional Information:
Salary is $15.00/hr
Shift/Work Hours:
Hiring for the Fall 2026 semester Hours could range from 7:45am - 11:30pm (Midnight during finals), Monday through Sunday. The library is open on select holidays and when classes are canceled due to inclement weather. There will be an annual group training which is mandatory. If the worker cannot attend, they must meet with a supervisor to review topics. Once an applicant is hired, the job posting will be removed, most likely prior to the application end date.
