Job Description:
The Office of Residential Life is seeking federal aid recipients for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive a financial aid award can be considered for this specific role. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities for this position. Position Summary Lead Resident Assistants work in cooperation with and at the direction of professional staff to support training, administrative duties, programming, and emergency response. Lead Resident Assistants are instrumental in creating an atmosphere of quality interaction, sharing accountability, and civic responsibility. Duties & Responsibilities Fulfill all expectations outlined in the Resident Assistant position description. Team & Professional Development 1. Be a position mentor to the Resident Assistants, as guided by your supervisor. 2. Return to campus in order to support training sessions no earlier than 2 weeks preceding the opening of the residence halls for the Fall '26 semester, and no more than one week prior to opening of the residence halls for the Spring '27 semester. 3. Address issues and concerns through documentation and referrals with your supervisor. 4. Support leadership as guided by your respective supervisor. 5. Moderate the duty selection process for respective RA staff. 6. Attend campus educational workshops or professional development opportunities. 7. Serve on sub-committees with the department by attending regularly scheduled meetings. 8. Support departmental events, programs, and initiatives which may include marketing, attendance, recruitment, and participation by which to increase the effectiveness of the residential experience. Community Development 1. Serve on the regular Resident Assistant duty rotation for your assigned residential area. 2. Respond to student concerns, policy violations, emergencies, and community incidents in accordance with departmental procedures. 3. Provide support to other residential areas and staff members as needed. 4. Participate in, promote, and assist with the coordination of Residence Life programs and campus events, including but not limited to: a. Open House and Residence Hall Tours b. Future Falcon Day c. Lighting of the Campus d. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Events e. Staff Bonding Sessions f. Resident Assistant Selection Process 5. These events are intended to support student engagement, residential community development, and Residence Life initiatives. Administrative The nature and scope of administrative responsibilities may vary based on the residential community to which you are assigned. Provide support for Residence Life through office hours, administrative projects, and major housing operations, including move-in and move-out processes. Provide administrative support for your assigned residential community as determined in collaboration with your supervisor. Complete administrative assignments, which may include: Room inventory management Health and Safety Inspection documentation Roommate Agreement tracking and follow-up Moving bin audits Hard key audits Other departmental assignments as needed Complete collateral assignments that may include: FYRE program support CDA/RA desk shifts Front desk coverage during critical operational hours Other responsibilities assigned by your supervisor
Requirements:
Qualifications At the time of appointment: Must qualify as a full-time student at Fitchburg State University. Be enrolled in 12 credit hours. Maintained a minimum of a 2.8 semester and cumulative grade point average. Dropping below 12 credit hours during employment must be approved by the Director of Residence Life/designee. Completion of 1 full academic semester in the role of a Resident Assistant prior to the start of their appointment. Failure to meet the 2.8 semester and cumulative grade point average or credit requirements will result in progressive disciplinary action.

Shift Information:
This is a part-time, student only posting and you must have Federal Workstudy money allocated to you in your financial aid package. Shift will vary based on student schedules and the pay is $15 per hour. Fitchburg State University is an equal opportunity employer.
