Job Description
Library Asssitant, Grace Hall Memorial Library, Montgomery (Montgomery)
The Grace Hall Memorial Library seeks a dedicated and detail- oriented Library Assistant to join our team who will provide exceptional customer service while maintaining the organization and accessibility of library resources. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a wide variety of people. The ideal candidate must be reliable, have the ability to problem solve, and work independently.
Duties include:
All matters of circulation - check in/out, renew, order and locate materials. Shelve books and materials. Provide technical assistance to patrons with library apps and services. Keep library shelves clean and organized. Answer reference questions. Create and maintain seasonal and special displays. Maintain safety and order in all areas of the library. Assist with programs. Keep and record daily statistics. Other library related duties as assigned. Cover Library Directors Sick/ Vacation Time off.
Must be available Saturdays 9:15am to 12:45 pm Qualifications
High school diploma/equivalency required, Bachelor's degree preferred. CORI check.
This position requires the ability to juggle various tasks at once, lift up to 25 lbs., stand and sit for extended periods, reach overhead and squat as needed.
Proficiency in basic computer skills like Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Google Docs. Familiarity with Evergreen or other Integrated Library System, Commonwealth Catalog, and cataloging experience helpful. Full/Part Time
