A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Jobs › New Bedford, MA › Special Education Teacher Amergis Special Education Teacher New Bedford, MA Apply Alternative Education Program Support Opportunity New Bedford, MA 35 Hours/Week Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a local school district in New Bedford seeking professionals to support middle and high school students in a structured, small-group educational setting. This role focuses on providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support while helping students achieve individualized goals.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:25 AM - 2:25 PM 10 school days per year extended to 3:35
PM Pay:
Licensed candidates: Up to $55/hour Unlicensed candidates: Up to $40/hour Pay is based on experience and qualifications
Qualifications:
