Duties Assist patrons with locating materials, using online resource databases, and navigating the library catalog system. Maintain and update library records through data entry, cataloging, and organization of the library collection using Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. Support the arrangement and filing of library materials through alphabetical and numerical filing methods, ensuring easy access for staff and visitors. Operate integrated library systems (ILS) for circulation, cataloging, and managing overdue notices or holds. Conduct research using database searching techniques to support reference services and answer patron inquiries effectively. Perform routine filing, archiving, and records management tasks to keep the library's collection organized and accessible. Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with questions about library services, resources, or technical troubleshooting of software or equipment. Qualifications Strong organizational skills with experience in filing systems, cataloging, and records management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and productivity software to support daily operations. Knowledge of databases, online resource databases, Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), and integrated library systems (ILS). Excellent writing skills for documentation, reports, and communication with patrons. Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining high productivity levels through typing skills. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with diverse community members. Technical proficiency in software troubleshooting, database searching for reference services, and general computer skills.
