QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Products- MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and/or using Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
INSTRUCTIONAL
MANAGEMENT
Provide individual and small group instruction and assistance to patrons in utilizing library digital and print resources. Maintains awareness of confidentiality protocols as it pertains to student privacy Assist and participate in activities occurring in the library including Makerspace Research library collections for materials to support curriculum needs
SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
Maintain positive relationships with campus personnel Demonstrate effective communication with students, staff, and library community Promote and support a positive, welcoming and customer service oriented library environment
SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT
Assist in bi-annual inventory of materials according to district procedures Regularly set goals and review personal work processes for efficiency and improvement
ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
Collect and maintain records of student fines and overdue notifications Assist with campus ID programs Assist in circulation, processing and maintenance of books, materials, and equipment File books according to district cataloging system
STUDENT MANAGEMENT
Support librarian in managing students individually, in small groups, and in larger groups Manage students when librarian is not in the physical library Support campus PBIS protocols in terms of student behavior
SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Participate in campus and district initiatives Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Attend professional development in areas such as technology and software use as it pertains to role in the library, interpersonal relationships, diversity, and any other district professional learning initiatives
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise library operations in the absence of the librarian
MISCELLANEOUS
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the campus librarian and campus administration Duty Days 183 Pay Grade Educational Aide 2
