Job Description

The City of Hampton is looking for some dedicated and detail-oriented Library Clerks to help maintain our library collection and foster positive relationships with the public. In this role, you'll follow established procedures and work under close supervision to ensure our library remains a welcoming and well-organized space for everyone. Specialized courses/training equivalent to the completion of one (1) year of college in library science, literature, or a closely related field preferred. Direct customer service experience preferred. Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Additional Requirements May require working beyond a standard 40-hour work week to include evenings and weekends. The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
