The Role Responsibilities Responsibilities of this role include supervising students and reinforcing school-wide and library expectations; as well as assisting them with locating, selecting, checking out, and returning library materials; and supporting students with basic research, digital resources, technology tools, and responsible information use. You will work closely with staff to locate materials and prepare resources for classroom use, as well as collaborate with them to support student learning. A key component of the job is the management of circulation tasks, such as overdue materials, student accounts, inventory, book processing, and library records. Library aides are also responsible for assisting with technology check-outs and troubleshooting. We are looking for an individual ready to create an engaging environment and promote books, reading initiative, library programs, and other school activities. Role Requirements The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Postsecondary coursework, an associate degree, previous library experience, school-based experience, or experience working with adolescents is preferred. Any library experience will also be a boon to candidates applying.
