Library Associate - Hedgesville Public Library $15.00/hour | Full-Time, 40 hours/week | WV PERS Retirement | Health Insurance (Premiums included) | Paid Vacation Hedgesville public library is located in Hedgesville, WV and is branch of the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Library system. Job Summary Hedgesville Public Library is seeking a customer focused, dependable Library Associate to provide excellent service to patrons of all ages. This position is part of the branch team and performs a variety of public service, circulation, technology, collection development, and programming duties. A primary responsibility of this position is to develop, plan, and lead engaging programs for children and teens. Responsibilities
  • Assist patrons with reference questions, reading recommendations, and locating print and electronic materials.
  • Staff the public service desk and provide assistance with computers, copiers, mobile devices, e-books, and e-audiobooks.
  • Check materials in and out, shelve materials, and pull holds.
  • Assist with selection, ordering, and weeding of children's and teen materials.
  • Independently plan and implement Children's and Teen programming and assist with Adult programming.
  • Provide a welcoming and helpful experience for library patrons.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred; relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children and/or teens is helpful.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and common technology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and shelve library materials.
  • Must be available for an evening shift and alternating Saturdays.
Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week. Schedule includes daytime hours, one evening, and alternating Wednesdays and Saturdays.
