We foster a positive, caring, and supportive environment with a strong team that works together to help every student succeed Position Summary Tinker Club's Math Circle program helps strong math students go beyond routine schoolwork through problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and discussion . Using Beast Academy and Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) , students explore challenging problems, compare strategies, and build confidence as mathematical thinkers. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Math Instructor with strong math knowledge and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate can engage students through thoughtful questions, guide them toward solutions, address misconceptions, and encourage them to explain their reasoning. Key Responsibilities Mathematics Instruction Teach mathematics using Tinker Club's Math Circle curriculum based primarily on Beast Academy and AoPS . Teach students in elementary and middle-school grade levels. Develop students' conceptual understanding rather than focusing only on procedures and memorization. Present challenging mathematical problems appropriate to students' levels. Guide students through problems using questions, hints, examples, and discussion. Encourage students to explain how and why they reached an answer. Introduce multiple approaches and solution strategies when appropriate. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field , or equivalent demonstrated experience. At least 2 years of experience teaching mathematics to elementary and/or middle-school students. Strong mathematical problem-solving and reasoning skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and in multiple ways. Ability to guide students toward solutions without immediately giving them the answer. Experience working with students who are performing at or above grade level. Understands that the goal is not simply to finish a worksheet, but to develop mathematical thinkers . Teaching Demonstration Candidates who advance in the hiring process may be asked to complete a 15-20 minute teaching demonstration . We are especially interested in how you respond when a student gives an incorrect answer or uses an unexpected strategy.

Schedule:

Part-time position with class schedules on weekdays 4:00-6:00 pm

Compensation:

$50 to $70/per teaching hour Compensation may vary based on qualifications, teaching experience, and demonstrated expertise. Why Join Tinker Club?
