Part-time academic-year position, 4- 5 hours/day, non-exempt
Supervisor:
Associate Dean of Academics -
Mathematics Qualifications:
High School diploma; prior experience in mathematics recommended; strong communication skills; high degree of confidentiality; strong personal presence
DUTIES:
Aides assigned to a mathematics classroom exclusively will work with a variety of students and can expect to perform most of the following duties: Provide students with one-to-one assistance Assist in classroom and math center activities Be empathetic to students' issues but still hold students accountable for doing their work Provide classroom support and general assistance for students in the classroom and math center Provide computer support and general assistance for students in a mathematics classroom and math center Help students to organize their tasks and prioritize their work Help students to record weekly assignments Assist teachers in tracking student progress Ensure student work is being completed Occasionally attend scheduled committee meetings when applicable Communicate directly with classroom teachers, case coordinators, and guidance counselors via e-mail and in-person Follow
