MATH COACH - ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SALARY
$87,500.00 PLUS
FULL BENEFITS
Under the direction of the Principal the Math Coach will provide the necessary leadership and coordination to develop a K-8 disciplinary approach to the English Education. The Instructional Coach is a teacher who has both content and instructional expertise particularly in Math. The Instructional Coach facilitates the school's professional development model by demonstrating lessons, observing classroom instruction for support rather than for evaluative purposes, and coaching teachers one-on-one. The Instructional Coach focuses on enhancing teacher ability to provide instruction that (1) builds student understanding and skills, (2) is academically rigorous, (3) addresses the curriculum standards and frameworks, and (4) enhances student sense of engagement in and ownership of learning.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • Implement a collaborative coaching and learning approach.
  • Assist new teachers, in a collaborative model of observation, conversation, and lesson demonstration, to analyze and reflect on their practice to promote quality instructional practices.
  • Model effective, differentiated instruction.
  • Provide individualized, classroom-based coaching with participants to support them in implementing good instructional practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master Degree
  • Valid NYS Math Certification
  • At least 7 years of past classroom experience
  • Deep knowledge of math development especially Guided Math and Engage NY.
  • Experience in demonstrating effective and successful classroom and coaching leadership instruction
  • Deep knowledge of and experience in: 1.
Content 2. Instructional strategies 3. Conditions of Learning 4. Assessment driven instruction (teaching/learning process)
