To Be Determined Job Description Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking applicants for a full-time maternity leave replacement from October 1, 2026 to December 18, 2026, teaching four sections of Geometry to ninth grade students. The math curriculum is focused on helping students to:- Develop a deep mathematical understanding of why mathematical ideas work and how they connect across topics such as algebra, geometry, functions, and modeling.
- Cultivate reasoning, sense-making, and the ability to justify solutions.
- Build procedural fluency and apply mathematics to real-world situations.
- Master the six major conceptual areas of math (number & quantity, algebra, functions, modeling, geometry, and statistics & probability) to prepare students for college mathematics, technical fields, and informed citizenship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in math or related field
- Besides helping the school and department meet its mission, the candidate should also have enthusiasm for teaching, experience with high school-age students, and a willingness to explore new methodologies and technologies for instruction
- Computer literacy and proficiency, experience with technology in the classroom, and ability to effectively utilize a learning management system
Teaching Expectations:
The teacher will join a congenial and collegial department consisting of five faculty members while being supervised and supported by the math department chair and the head of the upper school. Specific responsibilities for this position include:- Teaching four sections of geometry (two sections of College Prep Geometry and two sections Honors Geometry).
- Providing academic support for students outside of class time during office hours.
- Collaborating and participating actively in the work of the math department on best practices in curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment.
