Job Summary:
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Valid License through Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)
  • Hold or be able to obtain one or more endorsements in secondary content area(s). ELA and/or Math endorsement preferred
  • Valid First Aid Card (for newly-licensed teachers, as required by the District for a specific position, or as required to meet state requirements)
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and methods, evaluation techniques, behavior management techniques, and communication techniques.
  • Prior virtual instruction preferred but not required
  • Oral and written proficiency in the language of instruction
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and maintain effective environments for student learning
  • Understand and organize subject matter for student learning (i.e. special lessons, activities, writing assignments, etc.)
  • Use instructional strategies that are supported by research and engage all students in learning
  • Monitor and adjust online curriculum scope and sequence to ensure standards are met
  • Access and maintain the school's Student Information System (Synergy)
  • Provide weekly and periodic reports on student progress and work completed to the administrator
  • Assess and plan for student learning
  • Use appropriate assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques
  • Utilize effective practices to build a community of learners
  • Understand child and adolescent development and apply knowledge to curriculum selection, use of instructional practices, and student learning needs
  • Demonstrate a firm grasp of curriculum, teaching tools, and resources
  • Utilize technology to aid instruction and meet TSD9 District requirements
  • Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and families by holding parent conferences in-person, meeting in-person weekly with students, and providing daily office hours at THS for students

$47,048.00 to $87,523.00 per Year Depending on Experience, Depending on Qualifications
