The Valencia College Mathematics Division is seeking a part-time mathematics instructor to support its mathematics courses. These instructor-led courses help students develop analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and their practical applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong proficiency in mathematics and experience teaching core concepts across multiple course levels. Instruction should emphasize conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and active student engagement. The selected candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain mathematical concepts to learners with varying levels of preparation and learning styles. A collaborative teaching approach and the ability to create an engaging, supportive classroom environment are essential for this role. Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds.
