Pay:
$19.00 per hour Join Our High School Expanded Learning Team! Are you passionate about mentoring teens, building positive relationships, and helping high school students prepare for college, careers, and life beyond graduation? We are looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our Expanded Learning team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of high school students. As an After School Program Leader, you'll help create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where students can explore new interests, strengthen academic skills, develop leadership abilities, and participate in enrichment activities that prepare them for future success. Schedule Approximately 15-25 hours per week Monday-Friday (HLPUSD Student Calendar): 6:15 AM 8:30 AM /3:00 PM - 6:00 PM (hours may vary slightly depending on assigned school site) Staff follow the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District (HLPUSD) student calendar, with additional required staff meetings and professional development throughout the school year. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 48 college semester units completed or the ability to pass a Basic Skills Assessment (Math, Reading, and Writing) Experience working with youth or teens preferred College coursework or interest in Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Recreation, or a related field is highly desirable Ability to successfully complete a background check, fingerprint clearance, and TB test What You'll Do As an After School Program Leader, you will: Foster a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment where high school students feel respected, supported, and encouraged to succeed. Plan and facilitate engaging academic support, enrichment activities, leadership opportunities, college and career readiness workshops, and recreational programming. Build positive relationships with students while serving as a mentor and role model. Encourage student engagement, leadership, responsibility, and personal growth through meaningful learning experiences. Support homework assistance, tutoring, and project-based learning activities. Collaborate with school staff, community partners, volunteers, and fellow team members to enhance programming. Adapt activities to meet the diverse interests, abilities, and developmental needs of high school students. Promote positive behavior through encouragement, relationship-building, and restorative practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment. Assist with snack/supper distribution, daily attendance, student sign-out procedures, and program operations. Communicate professionally with students, families, school staff, and colleagues. Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve program quality. Why Join Our Team?
