The school offers a developmentally appropriate program from Kindergarten through high school. In keeping with its mission, "A Sequoyah education challenges the mind, nurtures the heart, and celebrates human dignity," the school's program supports a student's social and emotional growth alongside their academic progress. The school was founded in 1958 and recently expanded its highly regarded elementary and junior high program to include a high school. The high school campus is located just a few miles away from the K-8 campus. Sequoyah's after-school Daycare program supports students in continuing to explore and deepen their social connections, interests, and play. Daycare staff's first priority is always student supervision through engagement in activities, games, arts & crafts, learning and play. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide supervision for students after school through support and play. Observe students' behavior and progress, and reflect with the group in weekly meetings. Be flexible and aware as we move through our day, being willing to flow as need arises, ensuring that all students are supervised at all times. Be willing to work special events, meetings, and full-day Daycare days. Communicate effectively to foster a positive team environment and overall safety Perform other duties that may be assigned occasionally. Support the school's mission and culture, have good attendance, and be a positive team player. Required Qualifications Be responsible, on time, and 100% dependable Passion for working with children Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Patience Creativity Availability Monday - Friday, Daycare Staff- Part-Time , 17.75 hours per week 2:30p.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 2:15 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday. Occasional additional hours for days that there is no school and we have all-day daycare. Shifts will vary between 6-8 hours on these days: Friday, October 2, 2026 Tuesday, February 2, 2027 Occasional days when there is early dismissal and shifts will begin earlier.
