Educare strives to create an emotionally and physically safe environment built on teamwork, social awareness, inclusion and acceptance. We offer a welcoming atmosphere in which every learner is valued and given the support needed to grow. Through experiential learning Educare imparts life skills and principles such as cooperation, responsibility, respect, courage, and self-discovery. Educare provides dawn-to-dusk learning opportunities, enabling continuous development and education. Communication between Educare staff, parents, and educators creates a strong sense of community for all learners and families. We are looking to add a staff member to our team. The position is a ~11 month (early August to late June) position offering 25-35 hours per week, depending on enrollment. Our hours of work fall between 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. We are open for all day (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM) programming during school breaks. We would like to fill the positions immediately. The ideal candidate has experience working with children in a group setting and enjoys working with children of all ages. Our team works closely with each other to provide high quality after school programming for our learners — strong communication skills are essential to being successful in this role. Candidates should have a history of reliable attendance in the work place. Staff members are expected to be able to run break out activities of their choice and homework time with groups of up to 20 children. At our school we believe in restorative solutions and use Responsive Classroom techniques for our interactions with learners. Educare Staff Member Reports to: Director of Enterprise & Operations (primary), Assistant Director of Educare (secondary) Responsibilities & Duties Plan/lead large and small group activities on a daily basis Keep the Educare classroom and other spaces used clean and organized Check-in/Check-out learners Administer minor first aid to learners Assists learners in solving social disputes Communicate issues that arise with learners throughout the day so that they can be passed along to the appropriate parties (parents/guardians, educators, other staff members, etc) Lock/secure the campus at the end of the day Qualifications 18 years or older (will consider under 18 with a valid work permit) At least 1+ year working with children in a group setting M-F availability, with 2:00-6:00 PM heavily favored Strong communication skills Demonstrated reliable work attendance Ability to work in a team Negative TB Test (within the last 3 years) CPR/First Aid Certified (will provide training opportunities if necessary) Background check required
