Job Description
Role Title:
Extended Day Program (EDP) Staff /Afterschool Teacher FLSA Status:
Part-time Non-exempt Reports to: Director of Extended Day Programming Main Purpose of theRole:
The EDP Staff / Afterschool Teacher is responsible for developing and leading engaging afterschool activities, including both indoor and outdoor activities, snack time, and homework assistance; supervising students and responding to their needs and interests; and coordinating parent pick-up. This is a part-time, hourly position with shifts varying between 2:00-6:00pm, Monday-Friday , with summer months, holidays, and school breaks off.Key Responsibilities:
- Overtly support and act in accordance with the school's mission and values;
- Maintain a safe yet fun environment for boys beyond the classroom; spend time outside on the roof play yard and in the gym, enjoy snacks and activities, and work on classroom assignments;
- Manage program transitions and student pick-up;
- Provide a safe physical and emotional environment for all students, encouraging the boys to take initiative to solve problems and helping them investigate, ask questions, and have fun;
- Communicate with families.
