Description:
Saint James School, in Manchester, CT, a Catholic elementary school has an opening for a Middle School ELA, Literature and Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position requires a dynamic teacher that can interact with and support the learning of Middle School students.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops Middle Schoolers' skills, and a love of learning about our faith. Additionally, the candidate must be able to: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing. Encourage children to develop self-help skills and independence. Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs when necessary. Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school's behavioral policies. Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach. Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development. Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff. Assist students who may need additional support. Minimum 2 years of successful classroom teaching. Bachelor's degree required. Teacher certification. Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons. Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment. Practicing Catholic in good standing with his/her parish.
