Jacksonville, FL Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:15 AM-4:45 PM Our daycare is seeking an experienced VPK Lead Teacher to join our team. We are looking for a dependable, organized, engaging teacher who understands Florida VPK expectations and is confident managing a structured, learning-focused classroom. This position is best suited for an educator who already has VPK classroom experience and can step into the role with a strong understanding of VPK standards, assessments, classroom routines, lesson planning, and kindergarten readiness. Schedule Monday-Friday 8:15 AM-4:45 PM 30-minute lunch break Full-time position Classroom Structure Our VPK program consists of two separate classes:

Morning VPK:

Maximum of 11 students

Afternoon VPK:

Maximum of 11 students The Lead Teacher is responsible for both VPK sessions and for maintaining an organized, engaging classroom environment throughout the day. What We're Looking For Applicants should have: Previous VPK teaching experience Strong knowledge of Florida VPK standards and kindergarten-readiness expectations Experience with or strong familiarity with Frog Street curriculum Experience implementing a structured daily curriculum Knowledge of VPK assessments, documentation, and student progress monitoring Strong classroom-management skills Ability to create engaging learning centers and small-group activities Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with parents Strong organizational and time-management skills Dependability and consistent attendance Ability to maintain required classroom documentation and records Ability to work independently while also being part of a childcare center team Responsibilities The VPK Lead Teacher will: Implement the Frog Street curriculum with fidelity while meeting Florida VPK standards Prepare and organize lessons, materials, learning centers, and activities in advance Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in early literacy, language, math, science, social-emotional development, fine-motor skills, and kindergarten readiness Complete required VPK assessments and maintain accurate student records Monitor each child's progress and identify areas needing additional support Maintain a structured, positive, and well-managed classroom Communicate appropriately with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations Keep the classroom clean, organized, and prepared for each session Follow all VPK, DCF, licensing, and Daycare policies and procedures Required Qualifications Previous experience working as a VPK teacher Must meet Florida VPK Lead Teacher credential requirements Knowledge of Florida VPK standards Frog Street curriculum experience strongly preferred Current required DCF training/credentials or ability to meet all required qualifications before employment Must successfully complete all required background screening Ideal Candidate We are especially interested in someone who genuinely enjoys teaching four- and five-year-olds and takes pride in running an organized classroom.
