Solid Rock Community School, a K-12 private school in Tarpon Springs, Florida, is growing and seeking an experienced, compassionate, and innovative Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position can be structured as either part-time or full-time based on how the teaching schedule is designed, the candidate's qualifications and areas of expertise, and the needs of the school.

Full-Time:

$900-$1,100 per week We are looking for an educator who can make science engaging, relevant, and hands-on through our Living Systems approach, with opportunities to also teach within our Future Skills Lab. Our Living Systems approach connects science to the real world through life science, ecosystems, animals, sustainability, environmental stewardship, health, and the natural world. We want students investigating, experimenting, problem-solving, and understanding how science connects to the world around them. The Future Skills Lab expands that hands-on approach into innovation and emerging technology. Depending on the candidate's experience, this may include AI, coding, 3D printing, virtual reality, Canva, Cricut, makerspace projects, STEM, engineering, design, and other emerging technologies. You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed. We value educators who are curious, adaptable, willing to learn, and excited about preparing students for the future. Must be patient, kind, firm, and reliable. Must have experience working with a diverse population of students. Would you like to work in school that teaches compassion towards animals and all people? Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans Deliver instruction that caters to diverse learning styles, including special education needs and advanced learners Utilize learning technology tools to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive lessons Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and clear expectations (we train on our standards) Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, extracurricular activities like sports coaching, and school administration tasks Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student achievements in accordance with school policies Skills Strong knowledge of subject Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, parent interactions, and team collaboration Proven classroom management experience with the ability to create a positive learning environment Ability to incorporate learning technology tools into daily instruction; familiarity with library services and educational software Background in private school settings is a plus Commitment to ongoing professional growth through participation in education administration training or special education certification programs Check out our website to learn more about us. www.
