Overview Join our vibrant after-school program as an Assistant Teacher/Van Driver and become a vital part of creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. In this role, you will support classroom activities, supervise children during various activities, and assist in implementing educational and recreational programs that promote growth, creativity, and social development. Your positive energy and commitment will help children develop essential life skills while having fun in a supportive setting. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate educational activities and games that foster learning and fun Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and positive behavior management at all times Support classroom management by maintaining a structured environment conducive to learning and play Assist children with homework and tutoring to support their academic progress Collaborate with parents to meet each child's individual needs Support outdoor work activities such as supervising playground time or outdoor excursions while ensuring safety protocols are followed Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), and familiarity with first aid protocols is required; certifications must be current Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle behavioral challenges positively and effectively Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, children, and parents Demonstrated enthusiasm for youth development programs, teaching young children, or related fields such as babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts or early childhood education
