Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
: The classroom teacher is responsible for teaching academic and social skills to students at the elementary school level, providing instruction and managing the learning environment. The position reports to the Principal.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Create lesson plans and materials for class activities following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the state and school. Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems Communicate in a professional manner. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, parents, and staff to enhance the instructional environment; participate in parent-teacher and faculty meetings and events. Adhere to the established policies and regulations of the School Board. Perform other such tasks and responsibilities as the supervisor may assign.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge or familiarity with the subject(s) to be taught; knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or higher with valid Indiana Professional Educator License (preferred), or Charter Permit High competencies in classroom management. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Skilled with technology and education platforms/software Current First Aid and CPR certification Be eligible to work in the United States.
