Y's Kids After School Educator (3pm-6pm)
Location:
Salina, KS 67401 Position Overview The Y's Kids After School Educator is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in the Y's Kids after school program. This role involves supervising and guiding children ages 5-12 during the after school hours from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, facilitating educational and recreational activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development. Key Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety of children during after school program hours. Providing nutritional snacks. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities including homework help, arts and crafts, games, and physical activities. Encourage positive social interactions and foster a supportive group environment. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and Y staff regarding program activities and child progress. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Follow all Y policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines. Assist with attendance tracking and reporting as needed. Qualifications High School Students / High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with children in a group setting preferred. 16 years and older. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage children in a positive and energetic manner. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire. Ability to pass background checks and comply with all Y safety standards. Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
