The ideal candidate is passionate about music education, understands how to create a positive classroom culture, and can inspire students of varying musical abilities to develop confidence through singing and performance. The Choir Instructor will implement standards-based lessons that promote vocal technique, musicianship, teamwork, creativity, and stage presence while preparing students for school showcases and performances. Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging weekly choir lessons aligned with program goals. Teach healthy vocal technique, breathing, diction, rhythm, pitch, ensemble performance, and fundamental music theory. Introduce students to age-appropriate repertoire from diverse musical styles and cultures. Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment. Prepare students for concerts, showcases, and school performances. Maintain classroom management using positive behavior strategies. Collaborate with Beyond The Stage leadership and school personnel. Track student participation and communicate attendance as required. Arrive prepared with lesson materials and maintain instructional supplies. Represent Beyond The Stage LLC professionally at all times. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, Vocal Performance, or experience in field preferred. Minimum one year of experience teaching children in a school, community arts, or private lesson setting. Strong vocal and musicianship skills. Ability to teach students with varying experience levels. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Reliable transportation. Ability to pass required background screenings. Preferred Qualifications Experience directing children's choirs or teaching. Piano accompaniment skills. Experience preparing students for performances. Familiarity with Louisiana Arts Standards or National Core Arts Standards. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift instructional materials up to 15 pounds. Ability to actively engage with students throughout instructional periods. Employment Information Part-Time Afterschool Hours School-Year Position Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
