Position Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Middle School Teacher to deliver instruction in English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies for Grades 6-8. The ideal candidate is passionate about literacy, critical thinking, and helping middle school students connect their learning to a broader understanding of the world — grounded in Islamic values and global citizenship. Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in ELA and Social Studies, including reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, historical inquiry, geography, and civics Design interdisciplinary lessons that connect ELA and Social Studies content where appropriate, encouraging critical thinking and research skills Use differentiated strategies to meet the diverse academic needs of middle school learners Administer formative and summative assessments; use data to inform instructional decisions and identify areas for student growth Integrate Islamic perspectives, values, and historical context into relevant content areas Maintain accurate student records, grade submissions, and timely progress reports School Community & Additional Duties Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues that support a positive middle school culture Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding academic progress, behavioral concerns, and student achievements Collaborate with grade-level teams and academic leadership for vertical alignment, curriculum development, and school improvement Participate in professional development, curriculum nights, school events, and parent engagement activities Perform additional school duties as assigned by administration, which may include supervision responsibilities such as hallway monitoring, carpool duty, lunch supervision, and other school-wide operational needs; all staff members are expected to contribute to the smooth and safe daily functioning of the school community Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field Minimum of 2 years of middle school or secondary teaching experience in ELA or Social Studies Strong content knowledge across ELA and Social Studies at the middle school level Proven classroom management skills and ability to build positive student relationships Commitment to and respect for the Islamic school mission and values Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Valid North Carolina Teaching License or state teacher certification in ELA, English, History, or Social Studies Experience in an Islamic or faith-based school setting Familiarity with Common Core State Standards for ELA and NCSS Social Studies standards Experience with writing workshop models, Socratic seminars, or inquiry-based learning Proficiency with educational technology tools and learning management systems Bilingual in Arabic and English What We Offer A mission-driven, collaborative school community Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage Annual professional development budget and dedicated growth opportunities Discounted or waived tuition for employee dependents attending Intellicor International Academy Supportive academic leadership committed to teacher success How to Apply Intellicor International Academy uses a centralized application process.
