Job Description

Belmont Middle School has an opening for a Health teacher in grades 5-8 to teach and motivate students according to an established

curriculum.

  • Must be comfortable with a wide range of health related topics
  • Create written instructional objectives for the course and for units in the course
  • Establish appropriate instructional goals and objectives for the class that are consistent with the school curriculum
  • Effectively integrates appropriate technology
  • Prepare and maintain written plans and modifies them as necessary
  • Implement a behavior management program for students, assisting students in learning and demonstrating responsible behavior
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Submit progress reports on each student in the formal education program with recommendations as to further development
  • Review and recommend purchase of appropriate instructional materials to meed individual needs to support curriculum
  • Supervise or assists on field trips, recreation and other extra curricular programs for the benefit of the students
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policies
  • Attend staff meetings and contributes to school committee and workgroups
  • Performs related duties as assigned
