Job Summary:

Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher who will focus on 6th Grade Math Interventions to join our dynamic team. This unique role is designed for a passionate educator committed to fostering academic growth and personal well-being in our students. The ideal candidate will provide consistent training with soft skills while also spending time on targeted math instruction to remediate and accelerate student learning. Cultivating a supportive and empowering classroom environment that prioritizes social and emotional development is a priority. This individual will work with students in small group settings and one-on-one to address individual learning needs and build the foundational skills necessary for success in middle school and beyond. The secondary teacher will be expected to adhere to Amplus Academy's professional standards as well as Nevada Department of Education licensure standards. Amplus Academy is a classical education charter school located in the southwest area of Las Vegas. Amplus Academy has two campuses in Southwest Las Vegas serving the K-12 students of the valley.

Terms of Employment :

10-month per Contract of Employment (179 Day Calendar)

Salary :

The compensation for this position is in alignment with the Amplus Governing Board approved Salary Schedule; Salary Schedule based on years' experience and degree held. Compensation for all positions are determined by the Governing Board and Administration of Amplus Academy. Consideration is given for experience and specialized skills in determining salary.

Salary Range :

$50,840- $80,000 with 100%

Employer Paid PERS Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the behavior and instruction of students in the classroom, on school grounds (including hallways and lunch rooms) and on educational trips

Duties/Responsibilities:

Learning Lab Math Intervention and Acceleration Utilize a variety of assessment data to identify students in need of math intervention or acceleration. Design and implement engaging, evidence-based instructional strategies to address individual and small group learning gaps in mathematics. Develop and deliver targeted lessons that both remediate foundational skills and accelerate learning for students ready for advanced concepts. Monitor and track student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments, adjusting instructional plans as needed to ensure student growth. Collaborate with classroom math teachers to align intervention and acceleration strategies with the core curriculum and ensure a cohesive learning experience for students. Maintain accurate and organized records of student data, intervention plans, and progress. Character Development (Ingenium) Explicitly teach and integrate social and emotional learning competencies, including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to take academic risks. Implement strategies to help students develop a growth mindset, build resilience, and effectively manage stress and emotions. Facilitate restorative practices and conflict resolution to help students navigate social challenges constructively. Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating empathy, and building strong, supportive relationships with students. Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and families to support the holistic development of each student. General Communicate effectively and proactively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math intervention, acceleration, and social-emotional learning. Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits. Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff. Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning, including Professional Learning Communities. Demonstrates gains in student performance that are in keeping with school goals. Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of the pedagogy and best practices of education, preferably in the area of Direct Instruction. Demonstrate experience in providing academic interventions and/or accelerated instruction/coaching. Strong understanding of and commitment to the principles of social and emotional learning. Experience in creating and implementing individualized learning plans. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive and productive learning environment. Ability to analyze and use data to drive instruction. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to design lessons that teach in an engaging manner and guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Creative analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Classroom or related software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university Nevada Teaching License required ARL or out of state teaching license with ability to transfer to Nevada prior to start of school year accepted in lieu of current Nevada teaching license Prior teaching experience (2 years+) preferred Specialized training in teaching junior high and high school-aged children is preferred
