A Middle or High School Teacher teaches middle school students, usually in grades 6 - 12, in a public or private school. Teaches one subject, or a group of subjects, such as math and science; works with one class all year or teaches different classes of students throughout the day. May mentor students, coach a school team or advise a student club. May specialize in working with students learning English or students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
Sts. John & Paul School is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and enthusiastic full-time educator to join our faculty. This position combines three important instructional responsibilities: teaching Spanish to middle school students , providing English Language Learner (ELL) support , and delivering math remediation to students in Grades K-4 . The ideal candidate will be a versatile educator who is passionate about meeting students where they are, providing differentiated instruction, and helping each child build confidence and achieve academic success. The candidate should be comfortable working with students across multiple grade levels and collaborating closely with classroom teachers and school administration. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for middle school students , incorporating language acquisition, communication, and culture. Provide individualized and small-group ELL instruction and support , helping English Language Learners develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Provide targeted math remediation for students in Grades K-4 , using assessment data to identify learning needs and implement differentiated interventions. Collaborate with classroom teachers, learning support staff, and administration to develop strategies that address individual student needs and monitor academic progress. Maintain a positive, supportive learning environment while fostering student confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, Mathematics, or a related field; master's degree preferred. New York State teaching certification, or eligibility for certification, preferred. Proficiency in Spanish and demonstrated ability to teach Spanish to middle school students. Knowledge or experience working with English Language Learners and/or elementary students requiring academic intervention is strongly preferred. Strong instructional, classroom management, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills, with the ability to differentiate instruction across a range of student abilities and grade levels.
