Part-Time About Blended Minds Youth Academy Blended Minds Learning Academy has expanded to Blended Minds Youth Academy — an innovative enrichment-based Latchkey program dedicated to empowering school-age learners through academics, SEL, and community. Our School-Age Latchkey Program is designed to extend learning beyond the traditional school day by supporting students' academic success, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. Through a blended learning approach, we integrate hands-on instruction, enrichment activities, and social-emotional learning to ensure that children are supported, engaged, and empowered to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom. Position Overview We are seeking passionate and dedicated Latchkey School-Age Teachers to join our team. This role is ideal for educators who are committed to supporting children in grades K-5 through meaningful academic enrichment, positive behavior supports, and strong family engagement. As a Latchkey Teacher, you will serve as an educational guide and mentor, creating structured learning experiences that reinforce school-day learning while promoting creativity, confidence, and community. Schedule This is a part-time position with the following shifts:
Morning Shift:
6:00 AM - 9:30
AM Afternoon Shift:
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (AM or PM shifts may be negotiated for the right candidate.) Key Responsibilities Facilitate high-quality before-school and after-school programming for children in grades K-5. Teach and implement the provided curriculum to support academic enrichment, literacy, STEM, and social-emotional learning. Provide structured homework support and small-group instruction. Design and lead engaging enrichment activities that promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Create a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment. Implement effective classroom management and positive behavior support strategies. Build strong community relationships with parents and families through open communication, partnership, and engagement. Maintain accurate attendance and documentation as required. Ensure a safe, clean, and organized learning space. Follow all ODJFS and DCY licensing guidelines, health policies, and center procedures. Collaborate with administrators and teaching staff to support program goals. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (required). CPR & First Aid Certification (required). Must pass Ohio DCY background checks, including
BCI & FBI
fingerprinting. Experience working with school-age children (K-5 preferred). Previous teaching, tutoring, youth development, or classroom experience strongly preferred. Willingness to obtain a School-Age Endorsement. Strong classroom management and instructional skills. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities. Dependable, professional, and passionate about education. Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) - a plus.
