A Middle or High School Teacher teaches middle school students, usually in grades 6 - 12, in a public or private school. Teaches one subject, or a group of subjects, such as math and science; works with one class all year or teaches different classes of students throughout the day. May mentor students, coach a school team or advise a student club. May specialize in working with students learning English or students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
Monday-Thursday 8:40am-2:20pm 20 hours of classroom time per week. $17-$19 per hour Small classroom! No more than 8 students in your class! Interviews will begin the first week of August with an offer going out by the end of August. School year begins September 10, and ends by the third week of May for the 2026-2027 school year. Paid bi-weekly, 2 days of PTO.
Position Summary:
The Lead Teacher for the 2nd/3rd Grade Split Classroom provides engaging, Christ-centered with a Biblical Worldview instruction in a homeschool hybrid learning environment. This educator partners with families to reinforce learning both in the classroom and at home while fostering academic growth, positive character development, and a love of learning. The ideal candidate is organized, flexible, and skilled at managing a multi-age classroom using differentiated instruction. Primary Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the developmental and academic needs of both second- and third-grade students. Differentiate instruction to support students at varying ability levels within a multi-grade classroom. Implement the school's curriculum with fidelity while adapting instruction to maximize student success. Assess student learning through formal and informal methods and provide timely feedback to families. Maintain accurate records of student progress and classroom activities. Classroom Management Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment. Develop classroom routines and behavioral expectations that encourage responsibility, respect, and independence. Foster meaningful relationships with students while promoting social-emotional growth and conflict resolution. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and other assigned duties. Family Partnership Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and upcoming assignments. Support homeschooling families by providing clear instructional guidance and resources for at-home learning days. Partner with parents to encourage consistency between home and classroom instruction. Collaboration Work collaboratively with school leadership and fellow teachers to ensure program excellence. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events. Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture that supports students, families, and colleagues. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (teaching certification preferred but not required, depending on program requirements). Experience teaching elementary students, preferably in a multi-age or split-grade classroom. Confidence in teaching reading skills. Strong classroom management skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and meet diverse learning needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. A collaborative spirit and commitment to partnering with homeschooling families. Alignment with the mission, philosophy, and values of the homeschool hybrid program. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a homeschool, hybrid, or classical education setting. Knowledge of project-based and hands-on learning strategies.
