Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated After-School Chess Coach to inspire young minds through the strategic game of chess. In this role, you will lead engaging after-school sessions, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship among students. Your energetic approach will create a positive learning environment where children develop their skills and confidence while having fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic and personal growth through the timeless game of chess. Responsibilities Plan and deliver dynamic after-school chess lessons tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels Develop instructional materials that enhance learning and engagement, including lesson plans, puzzles, and game strategies Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students Tutor students individually or in small groups to improve their understanding of chess tactics and rules Communicate progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents to encourage continuous improvement Organize friendly tournaments and extracurricular activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition Qualifications Proven experience working with children in educational or youth program settings, especially in teaching or coaching roles Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline while fostering a positive atmosphere Ability to develop engaging instructional materials suited for different learning styles and age groups Experience with tutoring or teaching chess Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students effectively Passion for youth development, coaching, or extracurricular education programs that promote cognitive skills Join us as an After-School Chess Coach and help ignite a love for strategic thinking in young learners!
