Portland Christian Schools is currently seeking just the right person to fill our opening for a summer program teacher for grades Pre-K through age 12.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and Christian character. Support and uphold the mission and values of Portland Christian Schools in all interactions and responsibilities. Create a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment for children preschool through age 12. Plan and implement engaging lessons, games, crafts, and activities that support student growth spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout daily instruction and activities. Maintain classroom structure, behavior expectations, and safety procedures that encourage responsibility and positive choices. Supervise students at all times and actively engage with them during program activities. Adapt teaching methods and activities to meet the individual needs and developmental levels of students. Maintain accurate attendance, behavior, and communication records as required. Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community partners through respectful and timely communication. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, school events, and ongoing professional development. Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and inventory of supplies/materials. Follow all school policies and Oregon Child Care Division regulations. Assist with additional duties and school support responsibilities as assigned by administration. All PCS employees are expected to fully engage in the stated mission of the school, "to educate students in the truth of God's word in every area of instruction and activity, so that their lives may be transformed by the renewing of their minds." Must be willing to sign the PCS Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement. A background check will be run after a preliminary offer of employment is made.

Qualifications:
Oregon Registry step 7.5 or higher AA or BA/BS in Elementary/Early Childhood Education is preferred, but not required Experience working as an after-school teacher, Teaching Assistant, summer program teacher, or similar role preferred.
Salary:
$37,338 - $49,110 annual salary commensurate with education, experience, and credentials.
